At least one person died and thousands were in the dark after severe weather clawed central and southern Mississippi on Sunday. A 46-year-old woman died when a tree fell on her Victory Road property in Laurel. Kimberly Bellais was standing outside her home at the time of the accident around 11:56 a.m., Jones County Coroner Nancy Barnett said. Officials said the storm felled 40 trees in the county.
