Lawmakers Tell Brokers Class Action Will Pass But TRIA Renewal Far From Certain

Republican lawmakers told insurance brokers that class action reform will soon be passed giving momentum for Congress to address other tort reform issues. Although this was good news for brokers, lawmakers also warned that Congress will not touch renewal of the Terror Risk Insurance Act until after a Treasury Department report is issued this summer and that not even then is the program assured of being renewed.
