Lightning sparked a Huntersville house fire during Tuesday evening storms, the Huntersville Fire Department says. The fire broke out around 9 p.m. at a home on Neck Road, near Latta Springs Circle. The Long Creek Fire Department tweeted that flames were "through the roof" after a lightning strike. Storms rolled through much of the WBTV viewing area Tuesday afternoon, bringing lightning and even hail.
