Tropical Storm Bill caused an estimated $16 million in insured damages in Louisiana.
The storm, which came ashore June 30, raked north through the state before losing steam as it headed east. The Insurance Services Office Inc. said its Property Claims Services division did not assign the storm a catastrophe number, meaning insured damages are not expected to top $25 million.

The Louisiana Department of Insurance in Baton Rouge said more than 2,250 homeowners claims from the storm totaled at least $7.2 million, while commercial claims from around 1,000 policyholders amounted to around $4 million. In addition, automobile claims reached at least $4 million, and there were federal flood claims totaling around $800,000, according to the department.
