Kevin Murphy almost died on his birthday. He turned 49 on April 18, the day his neck was cut by a chainsaw. Murphy has been an arborist for nearly 25 years. On his first day working for a new company in Cornwall, he was cutting brush along Route 322 with a chainsaw when he slipped and landed on it. "I had the chainsaw in my hand," he said. "It revved up and I fell right onto the chainsaw." Doctors told Murphy he came just centimeters away from hitting a major vein or artery and losing his life.
