Thursday, December 17th, 2015 Fraud Workers' Compensation

A Hingham police sergeant has been indicted for alleged insurance fraud. A spokeswoman for Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said Wednesday afternoon that Sgt. Kris Phillips, 52, was indicted earlier in the day by a grand jury.
Philips faces four counts for a false work-related insurance claim from July 17 of this year – perjury, intimidation of a witness by misleading a police officer, and two counts of filing a false insurance claim. The indictment comes a month after Phillips was identified in a town investigation of anonymous letters sent to selectmen this spring.
