A jury in New Hampshire awarded a $2.6 million settlement to the family of a man killed in 1999 car accident claiming that the firm that redesigned the intersection where the accident took place were partly at fault. The jury placed 49 percent of the blame on the engineering company, 49 percent of the blame on the other driver, and 2 percent blame on the state Department of Transportation.
