An EF1 tornado damaged the Parkdale Mills and Wylie Overlook Mobile Home Park in Belmont Sunday night, according to meteorologists. The National Weather Service confirmed Monday evening that the strong stream of storms spawned a twister that briefly touched down in eastern Gaston County.
Winds reached 90 mph, turning over an 18-wheeler and ripping up an interior wall of the mill.
