A Robeson County woman is accused of setting fire to her home in Red Springs in May in an attempt to collect insurance money, authorities said. Marcia Reanee Chavis, 39, of the 3900 block of Buie Philadelphus Road, was charged Thursday with fraudulently burning her own dwelling, insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense. The fire was reported about 7:30 a.m. May 10, said Lt. Brian Duckworth, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office arson investigator.
