Northeast Forecast: Light Rain, Scattered Cleanups
Monday, October 17th, 2005 PropertySome flooding remained in parts of New England on Sunday, but with the skies clearing from New Jersey to New Hampshire, hundreds of evacuees were able to return home, and state and federal officials were beginning to assess the damage from the floods that struck the Northeast. Residents of a half dozen communities were evacuated over the weekend, including 1,300 in the town of Keene in southern New Hampshire, where dozens of local roads were closed.
