Oregon Wildfire Grows To 70K Acres, Evacuations Mandatory

The Chetco Bar Fire has now reached 70,000 acres, more than doubling since earlier today. The Sheriff’s Office has begun level 3 evacuation notices to all residents from the intersection of Carpenterville and Hwy 101 north to the Pistol River and east from the ocean. This includes all of Cape Ferrelo and South Pistol River areas. Evacuation levels have been raised for the residents in the Chetco Bar Fire area. All Level 3 Evacuations remain in place and all previous residences above Da-Tone Rock under a Level 2 Evacuation notice are NOW under a Level 3 Evacuation notice.
