R.I. attorney general opposes workers comp rate hike

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin opposes a National Council on Compensation Insurance request to increase workers comp rates by 3.9% in the state. Among other problems, the attorney general said Wednesday that the Boca Raton, Fla.-based workers comp rating organization applied an excessive medical trend factor to arrive at its suggested loss-cost rate increase.
