A Norwood man officials say was involved in a widespread roofing scam has been sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay $104,000 in restitution. David Nelson, 36, pleaded guilty Friday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and insurance fraud, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said in a news release.
The case involved a “classic scam,” DeWine said in the news release. “The defendant took money and provided nothing in return.” Investigators say Nelson scammed two dozen homeowners in the Greater Cincinnati area between 2014 and 2015.
