A Sampson County man is accused of falsely reporting his motorcycle stolen in 2005 to collect $15,350 in insurance money. Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin’s office said Monday that Scottie Lee Barnes, 39, of the 13600 block of Garland Highway in Garland was arrested and charged with insurance fraud, obtaining property by false pretense and conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense.
