The Senate approved workers’ compensation reform Monday following a debate exposing bipartisan discontent with alteration of a tightly crafted compromise between business and labor. The legislation incorporated House-passed language to trump a series of court rulings not welcomed by employers and includes an increase in maximum damage awards to injured or killed workers sought for years by employees.
