Severe storms blast North Dakota

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007 Property

Residents in four southeastern North Dakota counties were cleaning up downed trees and broken windows from rain, hail and wind. Farmers reported entire fields were damaged by the Sunday night storms. The swath of damage stretched across Cass, Ransom, Sargent and Steele counties. Kevin Camas, who farms west of Embden, said he lost his entire 1,100-acre corn crop and 600 acres of beans. His home had water in the basement, and a 2-foot drift of hail was piled next to the home.
