Crews are starting street repair work after a car got stuck in a sinkhole Wednesday in Hobart, an official said. A stretch of Lincoln Street near East 9th Street was blocked off Wednesday after the front end of a car fell into a sinkhole. City Engineer Phillip Gralik said the sinkhole was caused by a sanitary sewer collapse. There had been a depression in the pavement for a few weeks, which alerted his department to the problem, according to Gralik. They had just received quotes from contractors Monday, with work to begin April 16, he said.
