A Richmond man faces a felony charge for unlawful appropriation of an insurance settlement, a news release from the Rhode Island State Police said Wednesday. Michael Bresette, 43, of 52 Tug Hollow Road, Richmond, was arraigned in District Court, Warwick, on Wednesday and released on his own recognizance until a May 7 prearraignment conference. Members of the State Police Financial Crimes Unit made the arrest after an investigation that began with a complaint from someone who hired Bresette as an insurance adjuster for a homeowner’s claim.
