Gladwin County declared a state of emergency due to flood damages suffered over the weekend, becoming the fourth Mid-Michigan county to do so. Terry Walters, chairperson of the Gladwin County Board of Commissioners, issued the declaration Tuesday, June 27, stating the county has "sustained a widespread damage to public infrastructure and private property caused by flooding." Walters cited several roads now damaged and impassable, along with numerous residents reporting flooded basements, caused by the flooding.
Isabella, Bay and Midland counties previously declared states of emergency to ensure theyre eligible for state and federal relief funds.
