Storm damage reported in East Naples, related to Tropical Storm Debby

An East Naples neighborhood scrambled to patch roofs and clean up debris Saturday night from a wind storm related to Tropical Storm Debby, which formed in the evening in the Gulf of Mexico. Initial reports to authorities of a tornado touching down near Rattlesnake Hammock Road and U.S. 41 East shortly before 4 p.m. are as yet unconfirmed, said Dan Summers, director of the Collier County Bureau of Emergency Services. Instead, emergency officials labeled what occurred in East Naples as a downburst.
