Storm rips through Bridgeport; State of Emergency declared in city, Rell visits to inspect damage
Friday, June 25th, 2010 Auto PropertyA major storm passed through the area Thursday afternoon, causing severe damage in Bridgeport, especially in the southern part of the city. Mayor Bill Finch has declared a State of Emergency in the city. Trees were ripped from the ground in downtown Bridgeport, some roofs were torn off of structures, and a few buildings reportedly collapsed or partially collapsed. Some early reports have indicated the storm may have included a tornado that touched down in Bridgeport.
