Severe thunderstorms rumbled across the Northern Plains late Saturday and early Sunday, killing a child in Omaha and dropping tornadoes across northeast South Dakota. In eastern North Dakota, storms more than 3 inches of rain and hail as large as 1.75 inches in diameter at Golden Lake, about 13 miles southwest of Hatton, N.D.
