Storms pound Panhandle

Powerful storms blew through western Nebraska Monday, causing extensive hail and wind damage. Several tornadoes also were spotted, but there were no immediate reports of significant damage. Instead, golf ball to baseball-size hail and strong winds provided plenty of heartache and fear. Among the harder hit communities were Kimball, Gering and parts of Scottsbluff.
