Tavares, Florida Mayor Accused Of Insurance Fraud

Tavares Mayor Robert Wolfe was arrested Wednesday night on an insurance-fraud charge, an official said. Wolfe is accused of filing false claims with his insurance company for damage to his home and receiving $9,300 as a result. The Florida Department of Financial Services investigated Wolfe and gave its findings to the State Attorney’s Office, said Walter Forgie, supervising assistant state attorney in Lake County. Forgie said Wolfe claimed to have vacated his home because of the damage, which wasn’t true.
