Texan Charged For Faking Theft Of Her Border-Crossing Jeep

Odessa police arrested Natascha Stephanie Turner, 35, at 4:39 p.m. Wednesday in the 3800 block of Beechwood St., and charged her with insurance fraud, a state jail felony, according to a news release. On Sept. 23, 2015, Turner filed a stolen vehicle claim on a 2014 GMC Jeep Patriot with Allstate Insurance. Turner claimed to be in possession of the vehicle on that day, according to the news release. Investigation showed that the vehicle crossed into Mexico on Sept. 2, 2015, and there was no evidence of the vehicle ever returning to the United States, according to the release.
