Late Wednesday evening, hours after the snow storm ended, a handful of families huddled in the Thompson Valley High School cafeteria. The American Red Cross set up a shelter for families who needed a warm place to spend the night until electricity is restored to their homes. Mike Hickerson, his wife Leslie, and their 8-year-old daughter Brandi, arrived at the shelter in the late afternoon when they realized their power may not be restored until the next day.
