Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin today announced the arrest of Lauran Hopper Douglas, 35, of 203 Wind Road, Apt C, Greensboro; she is charged with one count of insurance fraud. Department of Insurance criminal investigators accuse Douglas of filing a fraudulent insurance claim with GEICO on Feb. 3, 2015. Douglas reported that her vehicle was struck while parked and unoccupied, but allegedly, the driver of DouglasÂ’ vehicle struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle and left the scene.
