Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin announced on Thursday the arrest of Kim Marie Waln, 43, of 228 Sharlow Drive, Fleetwood; she is charged with one count each of insurance fraud and forgery. Department of Insurance criminal investigators allege that on Dec. 20, 2010, Waln filed a false claim with Ashe County Farm Bureau Insurance that someone hit and damaged her vehicle while it was in a grocery store parking lot in West Jefferson.
