As an affiliate, PIC will gain access to The Institutes established network and infrastructure to expand and support its biennial leadership event, scheduled for November 17-20, 2019 at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, and to create additional education and networking opportunities for insurance executives throughout the region. “We have great respect for PIC’s longstanding commitment to insurance education and networking in the Pacific Rim, and we are pleased to affiliate with them to support and expand their mission,” said Peter L. Miller, CPCU, president and chief executive officer of The Institutes. “Together, we envision exciting opportunities to better serve a growing and vibrant region with more opportunities for interaction, discussion and education tailored to meet the needs of a rapidly changing industry.” Since 1963, PIC has hosted a biennial meeting attended by insurance leaders from across the Pacific Rim. The most recent event, held in Hong Kong in 2017, attracted over 350 insurance leaders. The affiliation deepens The Institutes’ events and educational resources and expands the reach of its offerings to new areas of the insurance industry. “Leveraging The Institutes’ resources, infrastructure and deep knowledge of the industry will strengthen our 2019 conference offerings and present exciting new opportunities to all of our participants,” said Gary Comerford, chairman and CEO of the PIC. “The Institutes has already stepped in to support and enhance our web presence, offering the expertise we need to ensure a successful 2019 conference.” Frank Paul Tomasello, JD, currently senior director of The Institutes Griffith Foundation, will serve as PIC’s executive director, responsible for expanding the organization and for the planning and execution of the next Pacific Insurance Conference, scheduled for November 17-20, 2019 at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
