Two Phelps Lawyers Recognized on the Power 50 List by New Orleans CityBusiness

Phelps Vice Managing Partner Kim M. Boyle and Senior Partner Harry Rosenberg were recognized on New Orleans CityBusiness Power 50 List – a collection of most influential people in their professions who are profiled for their career and community accomplishments.

The special section in CityBusiness looks at some of the region’s most influential professionals and Power 50 celebrates those who have made overall impacts on the area’s economic development and have moved their community forward with their energy and innovative ideas.

When Phelps created the new position of Vice Managing Partner in its New Orleans office earlier this year, the firm needed a proven leader who would lead initiatives that expand the firm’s relationships with policymakers, industry leaders, nonprofits and other community influencers.

The person they chose was partner and labor and employment attorney Kim Boyle, a longtime champion of regional economic growth and an active leader in the New Orleans business community.

Kim serves on the boards of Greater New Orleans Inc., New Orleans Business Alliance, Tulane University, Dillard University and Touro Infirmary. She is on the executive committee for the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and is president of the Louisiana Women’s Forum and Amistad Research Center. She was also the first black female president of the Louisiana Bar Association as well as the first black president of the New Orleans Bar Association.

Harry Rosenberg

Harry appreciates the intellectual challenges and ever-changing issues that have defined his five-decade career in law.

President George H.W. Bush appointed Harry to serve as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana where he stayed until joining Phelps in 1974. Harry practices commercial litigation with a concentration in civil rights, white-collar criminal law, trial practice and business torts.

Harry has worked on high-profile cases including Chinese drywall litigation and opioid lawsuits, as well as national business transactions that made a lasting impact on the city and state. His litigation work helped establish landmark court rulings in favor of contractors working in the Gulf of Mexico, following a fatal offshore platform explosion in 2012.

Harry has also increased his efforts to represent individuals who lack financial resources by donating his time to numerous nonprofit organizations around the city.
