FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY
MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the
following areas, Bamberg, Calhoun, Central Orangeburg,
Chesterfield, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington,
Northern Lancaster, Northwestern Orangeburg, Richland,
Southeastern Orangeburg, Southern Lancaster and Sumter.
* WHEN...From late tonight through Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may
become clogged with debris.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Heavy rainfall associated with Ian will move into the region
tonight and continue across the Midlands on Friday. Rainfall
may be heavy at times. Rainfall amounts will range from 3 to
5 inches with locally higher amounts.
