Use extra caution on the morning commute as some roads may be flooded! Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 AM CST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of north central Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, including the following counties, in north central Alabama, Limestone and Madison. In southern middle Tennessee, Lincoln. * WHEN...Until 930 AM CST. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 553 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. These storms are moving back over areas where widespread flooding has occurred. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain has already fallen, with locally higher amounts. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
