Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM PST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central California, including the following
counties, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced and Tulare.
* WHEN...Until 815 PM PST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of
water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 220 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fresno, Visalia, Clovis, Merced, Madera, Tulare, Porterville,
Hanford, Delano, Atwater, Los Banos, Corcoran, Lemoore,
Sanger, Reedley, Selma, Dinuba, Chowchilla, Orosi and
Parlier.
