Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
Heavy rain is forecast to fall on lingering snowpack leading to
additional runoff. Many rivers are already at or near critical
levels and should rise further if heavy rain occurs.
...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central Upper Michigan and western Upper
Michigan, including the following areas, in central Upper
Michigan, Baraga, Dickinson, Iron and Marquette. In western Upper
Michigan, Gogebic, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, Ontonagon and
Southern Houghton.
* WHEN...From late tonight through Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff is expected to result in flooding of
rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone
locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street
flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Many streams and rivers are already flooding and up to 3
inches of additional rain is forecast through Monday morning.
