Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. The National Weather Service in Grand Junction CO has issued a Flood Watch for the following rivers in Colorado... Elk River at Milner affecting Upper Yampa River Basin. .Warm temperatures have accelerated snow melt across the high county of northwest Colorado. This is increasing flow on many tributaries of the Yampa River, with a forecast peak in river levels expected mid to late this week. Increased reservoir releases may also add additional flows to rivers.
