streams, or creeks as river levels often peak overnight. Please heed
local advisories and closures.
FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM THURSDAY TO 9 AM MDT
FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt.
* WHERE...A portion of northwest Colorado, within Moffat and Routt
Counties.
* WHEN...Until 900 AM MDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Bankfull conditions are likely on rivers, creeks,
streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations by 9 PM MDT
tonight. Flooding is expected to begin early Thursday morning as
streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier
rainfall and snowmelt. Low-water crossings may be inundated with
water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 343 PM MDT, forecast gage points along the Elkhead River
continue to indicate heavy rain and snowmelt. Flooding is
expected to begin by Thursday morning in the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
mainly rural areas of East Central Moffat and Northwestern
Routt Counties, including drainages along the Elkhead River
to the confluence with the Yampa River.
