Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Chatham, Davidson, Montgomery, Moore and Randolph. * WHEN...Until 1015 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 745 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Asheboro, North Carolina Zoo, Seagrove, Robbins, Star, Steeds, Ulah, Coleridge, Highfalls, Martha, Eldorado, Harpers Crossroads and Glendon. - This includes the following flood prone locations...
