A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 PM MDT FOR CENTRAL OTERO...NORTHWESTERN PROWERS...SOUTH CENTRAL KIOWA... SOUTHEASTERN CROWLEY AND BENT COUNTIES... At 950 PM MDT, DANGEROUS severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles north of Timpas to near Wiley, moving southeast at 30 mph. THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS. 3 inch hail has been measured in Manzanola. Winds have gusted to 80 mph in La Junta. Tornadic circulations were occurring in the vicinity of Las Animas. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and 3 inch hail. Embedded tornadoes along this line are also possible. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters and airport weather sensors. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
