FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 AM EDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following county, Pamlico. * WHEN...Until 730 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 513 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Florence, Whortonsville, Janeiro, Maribel, Merritt, Minnesott Beach Ferry, Arapahoe, Minnesott Beach, Stonewall, Vandemere and Mesic. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
