FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Maryland, northeast North Carolina
and Virginia, including the following areas, in southeast
Maryland, Dorchester, Inland Worcester, Maryland Beaches, Somerset
and Wicomico. In northeast North Carolina, Camden, Eastern
Currituck, Pasquotank and Western Currituck. In Virginia,
Accomack, Chesapeake, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Northampton and Virginia
Beach.
* WHEN...Until Midnight EDT tonight.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected across the
watch area early this evening. Additional rainfall amounts of
up to 1 to 2 inches are likely across the watch area, with
localized higher amounts possible in locations that receive
multiple rounds of thunderstorms. The flooding threat will be
exacerbated in locations that have received heavy rain over
the past few days. This heavy rainfall may lead to rapid
water rises in creeks and streams, in addition to urban and
other flood-prone locations.
