FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Maryland and Virginia, including the
following areas, in southeast Maryland, Dorchester, Inland
Worcester, Maryland Beaches, Somerset and Wicomico. In Virginia,
Accomack, Charles City, Chesapeake, Eastern Essex, Eastern King
William, Eastern King and Queen, Gloucester, Hampton/Poquoson,
James City, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, Newport News,
Norfolk/Portsmouth, Northampton, Northumberland, Richmond,
Virginia Beach, Westmoreland and York.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected through
early evening. A quick 1 to 3 inches of rain is possible in a
few spots, which could result in flash flooding.
