It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHWESTERN IMPERIAL COUNTY... At 126 PM PDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... El Centro, Calexico, Brawley, Imperial, Plaster City, Ocotillo, Holtville, Westmorland, El Centro Naval Airfield, Mt. Signal, Mountain Spring, Calipatria, Dixieland, Seeley, Coyote Wells, Heber, Alamorio and Bonds Corner. This includes the following streams and drainages...
