...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Guam, Rota, Saipan and Tinian.
* WHEN...Through Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Streams may rise out of their banks. Flash flooding may occur in
poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding is
possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Tropical Storm Bolaven continues to approach the Marianas. As
the storm gets closer, showers are expected to increase
significantly. Latest model guidance indicates rainfall
potential of 8 to 14 inches, with locally heavier amounts up
to 20 inches possible. This would result in extensive
flash flooding across the islands.
