FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northwest North Carolina, including the following counties, in north central North Carolina, Surry. In northwest North Carolina, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin. * WHEN...Until 700 AM EST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 306 PM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
