Oconee River near Mount Vernon affecting Wheeler, Montgomery and Treutlen Counties. ...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY FRIDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Oconee River near Mount Vernon. * WHEN...Until early Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 17 feet, Minor flooding continues in the woodlands and pastures upstream and downstream from the gage on U.S. Highway 280. Some homes on Dead River Road in the south end of Montgomery County become surrounded by water. Water begins to cover lower portions of Dead River Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 PM EST Tuesday the stage was 16.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.7 feet early Wednesday afternoon.
