FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM HST WEDNESDAY FOR THE ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County. * WHEN...Until 200 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1134 PM HST, radar indicated moderate to locally heavy rain over the West Maui mountains and along the southern slopes of Haleakala. The heaviest rain falling from Kihei south of a line from Kihei to Kula. Rain was falling at a rate of up to 1 inch per hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kahului, Kihei, Lahaina, Pukalani, Kula, Keokea, Haliimaile, Puunene, Makawao, Maalaea, Paia, Wailea, Waikapu, Haiku- Pauwela, Wailuku, Pauwela, Ulupalakua, Waiehu, Makena and Huelo. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 200 AM HST if flooding persists.
