NWSGSP. Your message should describe the specific location where
impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 AM EST EARLY THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the
following counties, Cabarrus and Mecklenburg.
* WHEN...Until 315 AM EST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1208 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicate heavy rain of 1 and 2 inches fell earlier this
evening. This has created urban and small stream flooding,
which will continue over the next few hours as stream levels
slowly recede.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Huntersville, Kannapolis, Northeast Charlotte, West Concord,
Cornelius, Davidson, Harrisburg, Coddle Creek Reservoir,
Charlotte Motor Speedway, University City, Lake Norman and
Croft.
