* WHERE...The following areas, Northeast Prince William Sound and
Southeast Prince William Sound. This includes the cities of
Valdez, Thompson Pass, and Cordova.
* WHEN...From Saturday morning through late Sunday night.
* IMPACTS...Near saturated soils may lead to excessive runoff and
result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running
high and could flood with more heavy rain. Landslides may be
possible in areas of steep terrain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A period of rain is forecast for the Prince William Sound
area beginning Saturday morning and continuing through Sunday
night. There is moderate confidence for total rainfall
amounts of 1 to 3 inches for Valdez, 1 to 2 inches for
Thompson Pass, and 2 to 4 inches for Cordova, with higher
amounts likely in higher terrain. Rain may be heavy at times
resulting in excessive runoff on already near saturated
