dangerous surf conditions.
* WHAT...For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 5 to 8
feet expected in the surf zone. For the Coastal Flood
Advisory, minor coastal flooding expected.
* WHERE...South Walton, Coastal Bay and Coastal Gulf Counties.
* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through late Thursday
night. For the High Surf Advisory, from 11 PM EDT /10 PM CDT/
this evening to 11 PM EDT /10 PM CDT/ Thursday. For the
Coastal Flood Advisory, from 2 AM EDT /1 AM CDT/ to 2 PM EDT
/1 PM CDT/ Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Water levels will be highest around the time of high
tide early Thursday morning prior to sunrise. High tide is
around 3 am CDT on Thursday. Water levels of 1 to 2 feet above
normally dry ground are expected. These water levels typically
flood into beach access parking areas, overwash low lying
coastal adjacent roads and other beachfront areas. In addition
to the high water levels, high surf will lead to beach
erosion, especially around times of high tide. Surf of this
magnitude will also generate deadly rip currents, even for
experienced surfers and swimmers.
