Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.
* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 9 to 12 feet.
* WHERE...North and east facing reefs of Pohnpei and Kosrae.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM ChST this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The buoy near Pohnpei continues to show
occasional long-period north swell, and an elevated northeast
swell. The north swell is expected to diminish tonight, but surf
may remain hazardous along east facing reefs, especially at Kosrae
where the threshold is 8 feet, compared to the 12 foot threshold at
Pohnpei.
